RE-ELECT JOHN WRIGHT FOR TOWN COUNCIL
It has been a great honor to serve you on the Town Council since 2013 and as your Mayor in 2015 and 2018. I am running for re-election because I care deeply about our community and believe the Town needs my experience and skills to deal with its current extraordinary challenges. As a business attorney for 40 years, a two-term mayor and a San Anselmo community leader for 30 years, I get things done through collaboration and steady leadership. Please click here to learn more about me and how I have helped our community.
While a trustee for both our elementary and high school districts, I led the 15-year effort to establish Red Hill Field as a community park that includes playing fields and a dog park. In 2013, I played a key role in the passage of Measure D with nearly 70% Town voter approval to improve the quality of our streets and roads. As a result, during my tenure on the Council, the Town has made significant progress on restoring streets and road medians. Most recently, through my position on the Economic Development Committee and the Council, I have worked to support local business through adoption of the new directional signs and the initial opening of the new downtown plaza, Creekside Commons. I worked with Town staff and the Chamber of Commerce to design and establish the COVID-19 small business relief fund for local businesses, and represented the Council on the COVID-19 small business task force that implemented the Town’s business reopening signage program.
We now face unprecedented challenges. Our daily lives have been turned upside down by the pandemic, which is devastating local businesses and creating budget pressures for the Town. Wildfires and power shutoffs have emerged as serious public safety risks. This is the time for experienced leadership from Councilmembers with proven track records.
Please join Congressman Jared Huffman, Supervisor Katie Rice, Vice Mayor Brian Colbert, former Mayors Kay Coleman, Barbara Thornton, Peter Breen, and Tom McInerney and other community leaders in supporting my re-election to the San Anselmo Town Council.
I look forward to hearing from you and learning about your ideas for how we can keep San Anselmo strong.
KATIE RICE, MARIN COUNTY SUPERVISOR
I have worked with John for many years, during his service as a school trustee, school foundation member and as a San Anselmo councilmember. Few have his breadth of experience and knowledge of the community and how local government works.
I strongly support his re-election.
